New Zeiss SFL (SmartFocus and Lightweight) binoculars come in two models — 8x40 and 10x40. Both are compact (5.7 inches long) and tripod adaptable. SmartFocus positions the focusing wheel in an ideal position so users can focus quickly and precisely, even while wearing gloves. Using only 1.4 rotations to go from close focus (4.9 feet) to infinity, the SFL combines speed and precision when glassing. Each model weighs only 22.6 ounces due to reduced lens diameter, plus the use of thinner and more closely spaced lens elements.
The new Ultra-High-Definition (UHD) concept offers exceptional color fidelity and high-image resolution, and LotuTec coating on lenses provides a clear view even in rain due to its beading effect. The 90% light transmission and T* multi-coating deliver a clear and crisp image, even in low light. Zeiss’s proprietary FieldFlattener technology provides edge-to-edge clarity, with a wide field of view of up to 420 feet at 1,000 yards on the 8x40 model. (Available in July 2022.)
