Targeting retailers in the hunting and outdoors industry, the all-new Hunting Retailer Show aims to bring the entire industry together under one roof. The exclusively business-to-business event will be held March 9-10, 2020, in Nashville, Tennessee, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center.
In addition to walking the 60,000-square-feet exhibit space reserved for the Show, attendees can take in educational seminars, retailer roundtable discussions and an industry appreciation party. That said, you probably don’t want to focus on work the entire time. Below are five things to do in Nashville during early March while you’re at the 2020 Hunting Retailer Show.
Grand Ole Opry
No visit to Nashville would be complete without a visit to the Grand Ole Opry. Founded in 1925, the Opry is an American icon and Nashville’s No. 1 attraction. Each week visitors to the Opry are entertained by a mix of country music legends and contemporary performers.
Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum
Known as the “Smithsonian of country music,” the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum features exhibits, galleries and theaters to entertain and educate music lovers. Safeguarding more than 2.5 million artifacts, the Museum recently unveiled a $100 million expansion, which doubled its size.
Civil War Tour
This seven-hour tour (operated by Gray Line Tours) details some of the deadliest hours of the American Civil War. You’ll learn about the Battle of Franklin in 1864, and visit the Carter House and Lotz House, which today still show bullet holes and blood stains. You’ll also see the Carnton Plantation, which served as a field hospital; it is now the country’s largest private Confederate cemetery.
General Jackson Showboat Dinner Cruise
Travel the Cumberland River on a historically recreated paddle boat — one of the largest in the United States — that features a Victorian theater. The three-hour General Jackson Showboat cruise includes live music, comedy acts and a southern, three-course meal.
Adventureworks Zipline
Located only 15 minutes from downtown Nashville, the Adventureworks Zipline offers an adrenaline-fueled course of eight ziplines through the forested hills of Fontanel. Reaching heights up to nearly 90 feet, the course typically takes 90 minutes to complete.
